Here’s a quick video I shot this morning of a very rare powder snow day here in Ontario. With such powder days, the first hour upon chairlift opening (sometimes even less) will have us skiing in light, fluffy powder up to our knees which was the case today. But soon after, the snow gets more packed in and the slopes become deep ungroomed conditions which are tougher to ski through.
So when there is a forecast of a huge dump of snow, the trick is to start the powder snow day early since the fluffy stuff won’t last long.
